Mystery Train is one of the islands in the Poptropica games. This island is the 21st island and it was released on September 9th, 2010 for Poptropica members and on October 7th, 2010 for non-members. In this island, you will climb aboard a train and you have to solve a mystery before the Chicago World’s Fair is ruined completely. The common room is Reverie Lounge and it was preceded by Shrink Ray Island and succeeded by Game Show Island.
In this section, you have to go to Mystery Train if you are not already there. After you are in the Mystery Train, you have to walk over to the guy pushing hard on something. Do you know who he is? He is Thomas Edison. You have to talk to him and he wants you to help him with his ramp. So, you have to do it. The order to make the ramp work is smallest to tallest and left to the right. After being so nice and helping him, you will get a Train ticket.
After getting a ticket, you can get on the train and you will get to talk to and meet a lot of people. A lot of them are popular but make sure that you speak to George Ferris. He is an inventor of the Ferris wheel. The wheel is not working and he will give you a Telegram message. Now, you are able to go left to meet more people. Make sure that you talk to everyone. You can get into Susan B. Anthony’s cabin. She will give you a Women’s Suffrage Pamphlet. There, you have to keep going left and then pick up the Pencil on the table in VIP Car 2. Then, you have to get into Mademoiselle Moreau’s cabin. She will give you a Le Monde newspaper.
In the end, you have to go to meet Mr. Edison. He got his machine ready and wants to test it out. It is working but then disaster strikes. Since just as he leaves to get the reporter, the train curves and goes into a tunnel. Then, the light is gone momentarily. When the light is back, the machine is stolen and then Mr. Edison comes back. So, you are on the case. You are able to talk to the New York Times reporter. Apparently, Twain has a secret compartment. You are able to go over to Twain’s cabin and when you talk to Mark Twain, he seems suspicious when you mention the secret compartment.
In this section, you have to tap around the walls to discover the different sounding wall. When you click it, it will go. It will turn out it was just a manuscript of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Twain was working on. Then, the train stops suddenly. If you get out, you have to talk to the reporter. He will say that he heard someone running outside of the Edison’s door. He might have left a clue. What do you have to do then? Read the full walkthrough of this island in the Poptropica Help Blog and then play the game.
